    USCIS Fees Increase
Immigration filing fee increases that we mentioned in an earlier update will go into effect April 30, 2004 according to an announcement made by the USCIS on April 15. Most applications go up $55, with the fingerprint fee rising $20. Thus a permanent residence application including a petition will rise $130 ($55 for petition, $55 for the permanent residence application and $20 for fingerprints or biometrics). If the applicant requests employment authorization and permission to travel while the application is pending, figure another $110.

For specific application fees see link to chart below.

The fee increase is applicable to cases mailed, postmarked or otherwise filed after Friday, April 30.
